"Helvetica" movie response
This movie was a documentary, which can sometimes make it interesting. I like how this was a documentary about the entire world of writing and graphic design using a computer, because these things affect our everyday life. This movie focused on the font "Helvetica," which is a simple and default font which is used for almost everything. I enjoyed how the movie mentioned Helvetica is used everywhere. Bill boards, books, advertisement etc. It is just the regular font used everywhere, and if you pay attention then you will notice it. The parts that bored me a little were just the talking about graphic design over and over again with people speaking who are not very interesting. Or who go on and on saying the same thing over again. It was interesting to learn how graphic design works and how different fonts and letters are created; especially when explained by someone who is interesting to listen to. Overall, I think this was a good and educational movie to watch as an introduction to this class. Watching things closely and peaking into the world of how things are developed in the realm of graphic design.
